Travel, it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller - Ibn Battuta
Doing what I love
I've had the desire to be in the travel industry all my life. Recently I had found my 6th grade school yearbook and in it I wrote "airline stewardess" as my future profession. That was in the 70's when only women were allowed to serve, and you had to be over 5'8" tall. I signed up for a course in Travel Services while I attended MacArthur High School. That's where I realized this is what I wanted to do. I loved the idea of traveling. After I graduated High School, I applied for a job with American Airlines to be a flight attendant. Well, since I was only 5'3", I didn't get the job because I didn't make the height requirement. I was so discouraged, but I didn't give up. I did the next best thing and started working for Liberty Travel in Levittown NY.
I started The Honeymoon Planner in 2002 working under Welcome Aboard Travel for Betty Roof and Pat Twitty and had successfully gained a great list of repeat and referral clientèle. In 2015, I decided to go on my own and become incorporated. It was a scary leap of faith, and I'm so happy I took that leap! I combine my love of different cultures, food, scenery, hotels, architecture and meeting local people into my career. I love the wedding niche, but am ecstatic about helping clients plan vacations as well! Nothing warms my heart more than working with my honeymooners and then planning their anniversary and family vacations years later. I have decades of experience in the travel industry, continuing through college courses and keeping up to date with licenses and certifications and all the changes this industry has. But it takes more than travel education to be good at what I do. I treat all of my clients as if they were VIP and family and I feel a loyal responsibility to them. In other words, it's personal... I really look forward to developing long-lasting relationships with my clients. Whether it's a multi-country European vacation, backpacking the back roads in far away places, a simple weekend get-away, group trips, girls or guys trips, golf holidays, memorable honeymoons, babymoons, 50th Wedding Anniversary vacations, I've done them all and look forward to helping many more experience the world of travel.
